About Teishin tools

Teishin tools, including Zanshin (the flat-edged tool pictured), are technically needles, although they do not penetrate the skin. They are used in many Japanese styles of acupuncture and elicit the same types of effects that an inserted acupuncture needle does. They are made of sterling silver, copper, and 14K gold.

Teishin is a wonderful tool for needle sensitive, needle-phobic patients, and children. They can also be great for those who would need very light types of therapies (although this is not to say that the teishin would automatically be a light treatment for a regular patient.)

Teishin produces ionic effects to assist change in the fascia and muscle layers, and can provide a deep energetic change to acupoints and regions of the body.
